What is Eucalyptol?

Also known as cineole, Eucalyptol is the primary terpene of the eucalyptus tree. French chemist François Stanislas Cloez isolated eucalyptol from Eucalyptus globulus in 1870. Already part of your everyday life, Eucalyptol is quite prolific and very useful.


Where Does Pinene Come From?


Like Pinene, Eucalyptol's origin is probably not a surprise. It constitutes 90% of the compounds found in eucalyptus oil. It's found in several other plants as well:
